Additional Information

Camp Group and Years at Camp: 

All campers will rise to the next age group for Summer 2021 (i.e., campers who were slated to be Sophomores this summer will become Juniors in 2021). 

Many of our campers and staff are counting their milestone years at Walden. When marking the years each person spends at camp, we will be including the summer of 2020 for all of our campers and staff. We will be ordering 5-year jackets and 10-year plaques, and look forward to honoring those milestone years in a special online ceremony this summer, and then again when we are back together in Summer 2021. 

Teen and CIT Programs: 

For our 2020 Teens, 2021 will be your CIT summer. However, we want to outline a program with you for 2021 that offers you a combination of the travel and excitement we had planned for you this summer, but also the leadership and training opportunities you will receive as a CIT at Walden. We will arrange a zoom call with all of you next week so that we can begin to solidify the plans together. 

For our oldest campers, our 2020 CITs, we recognize how upsetting the thought of not having closure to your camper years must be. Please be assured that we are committed to creating a special program for 2021, that will allow you to finish the Walden journey that you started together. We look forward to seeing you later this week and get a chance to share some ideas about next summer. We will arrange a Zoom call for Thursday evening. 

Connecting with our campers: 

We will be organizing Zoom calls for each age group and will send you a link and date over the next few days. We understand that campers need time to process this news with their families. Of course, if you feel your child needs to connect with us prior to their Zoom call, please don’t hesitate to reach out. 

Financial Information and Logistics: 

All of the financial information including details about Camp Trucking and Camp Meds will follow in the coming days. As we had mentioned in our previous letter, we will be rolling over funds to 2021 or refunding for those who will not be re-enrolling.
